About Me
Welcome to my musical journey!
After a career in healthcare and research science, I've retired and returned to my first love: music. I've played the piano since I was a small child, and now that I'm in my 40s, I like to think it's getting nice!
I've accompanied singers and instrumentalists of all ages and abilities, from youngsters aiming for their early exams up to veteran performers working with the BBC and London's West End. I've written a few movie soundtracks, including 'shorts', documentaries, and feature-length films, together with a small collection of songs that have been released via my own record label.
With my love of music and a passion for teaching, I aim to educate and inspire students of all ages and abilities. Teaching takes place from a ground floor flat in central Taunton, where I live with two Siamese cats who will watch my pupils and judge them silently, and my wife, who will not!
Services
Piano Lessons
Offering personalised piano lessons for beginners to advanced students, focusing on technique and musicality. Lessons can be conducted face-to-face or online via video calling, and parents/guardians of junior students are also welcome to attend.
If you have a piano at home and are unable to make it to us, I can often come to you, and online consultations are available for those further afield.
Performance and Accompaniment
Available for performances, recordings, rehearsals, and examinations, providing professional piano accompaniment for singers and instrumentalists, or indeed, solo performances if requested.
Songwriting & Composing
Collaborating with artists to create original music, tailored to their vision and style. A few examples are available on Soundcloud, which I'll keep adding to when I get the time.
Music Technology
Expertise in music production, sound design, and audio engineering to help bring your musical ideas to life.
